TAT Presents “VR Experience” to Promote Thai Tourism at ITB Berlin
The Tourism Authority of Thailand has joined the International Tourism Borse (ITB), one of the biggest tourism fairs in the world which was organized for the 50th time in 2016. Apart from bringing Thailand’s tourism entrepreneurs to participate the event, TAT has also brought the highlight of Thailand’s tourist attraction presentation which is the adapted Virtual Reality (VR) technology, allowing visitors to virtually experience various attraction sites in Thailand. This technology does not only build good image for Thai tourism, but also help promote numbers of tourist attractions in Thailand.
International Tourism Borse (ITB) 2016 was organized during March 9-12, 2016 at Messe Berlin Exhibition Ground, in Berlin, Germany. To promote Thailand’s tourist attractions, this year, TAT has brought the VR technology to be presented at TAT’s booth. The technology allows visitors to see new aspects of Thailand’s tourist attractions with virtual experience in travel.
The VR technology has been developed and adapted in terms of 3D representation. With the VR are mobile application and headset equipment which are main tools in presenting 360-degree image and video of each attraction. By simply turning their heads in directions, left-right or up-down, or around to feel the atmosphere of the attractions.
The presentation of VR technology functions by the operation of the updated version of TAT’s “Amazing Thailand” and “Tourism Thailand” mobile applications, available on Apple App Store and Android Google Play. Interested visitors can use their smartphones with the application installed to connect with VR headset. After wearing the headset, users then choose a destination from our list of attractions throughout Thailand they want to explore, and enjoy the 360-degree image and video.
Apart from the cooperation with VR headset, as another choice for those who don’t have the headset, TAT’s VR technology can also connect with the Google Card Board to feel the ultimate experience. Users can also simply view the 360-degree image and video of the desired attractions on their smartphones’ screens without any accessories.
Not only at the TAT’s booth at ITB event where you can feel the virtual experience of Thailand’s attractions, interested smartphones users can download TAT’s “Amazing Thailand” or “Tourism Thailand” mobile applications for both iOS and Android to experience the unique virtual travel. With smartphones in your hand, select the menu VR 360 at the desired destination on the application and let your journey begin.
